Ari Kolberg

Ari’s passion for global economics began during his undergraduate studies in political science. Originally from Michigan, he saw firsthand the impact of trade policies on local communities. This personal connection made him want to learn more about the complex forces that shape global finance. Outside of academics, Ari’s involvement with micro-lending initiatives and his time spent mentoring small business owners in Southeast Asia provided him with invaluable insights into the practical realities of international economics. This experience shaped his approach to reporting. Married for 21 years, to his wonderful wife, Carla, Kolberg admits he is one of the luckiest husbands on his planet. He has a 19 year old son who took an interest in learning Spanish. Today, Ari brings a unique blend of academic grounding, real-world experience, and Midwestern common sense to his work at TNGB. He’s committed to simplifying global economics for viewers, empowering them to navigate the ever-changing world of finance.
