‘Luxurious Life’ Executive Arrested As Feds Target Newsom Funds

Acting U.S. Attorney Bill Essayli announced a federal crackdown on the alleged misappropriation of billions in California homelessness funds. This investigation involves the formation of a specialized “Homelessness Fraud and Corruption Task Force” to target fraud and corruption within state programs. Federal authorities recently arrested an executive for allegedly embezzling $23 million meant for housing to fund a “luxurious life” that included high-end real estate and luxury vehicles.

The probe extends to Governor Gavin Newsom’s administration and the “Homekey” program due to a reported lack of transparency and oversight. President Trump alleged that the state’s multi-billion-dollar homelessness budget suffered from a massive lack of accountability. The Department of Justice continues to investigate these programs to hold individuals responsible for the alleged theft of taxpayer resources.

We have major breaking news. Acting U.S. Attorney Bill Aselli has reportedly announced the formation of a homelessness fraud and corruption task force right here in California. And let me just say, the details are, well, they’re absolutely infuriating no matter where you sit politically. Oh, stop. Just stop with the infuriating for everyone act.

This is exactly what I have been screaming about for years. This isn’t just fraud. This is the homeless industrial complex operating exactly as designed. Say this man was contracted with the city and county of Los Angeles to house and feed up to 600 homeless people, but instead he was misusing 10.

You have a guy who allegedly bought a mansion, a second home in Greece. Greece, $125,000 Land Rover, designer clothes and private school tuition. While people are dying on the sidewalks and tents, this so-called charity director is reportedly sipping wine in a Greek villa on the taxpayer’s dime. It is a scam. The whole system is a scam.

Hold on. I’m not defending the guy. If he stole that money, throw the book at him. It makes my blood boil because that money was supposed to help vulnerable people. But you cannot sit there and say the entire system is a scam because of one, one greedy criminal. That is a logical leap I just can’t take.

There are thousands of legitimate workers out there trying to solve this crisis. And this one guy reportedly stealing $23 million ruins it for everybody. Of millions of dollars to live a luxurious life. Exclusive Fox video shows the Fed’s early morning bust here at the L.A. mansion. 42 year old.

He’s damaging the credibility of programs that actually, you know, save lives.

One guy. Oh, please. The report explicitly says, and I’m quoting here, he is not the only one. They have warned that more investigations are ongoing. This is the tip of the iceberg. You liberals love to throw money at a problem to feel better about yourselves, but you never, ever check where the check clears.

You bought this guy a Land Rover, you personally, and now you’re defensive because it proves that the lack of oversight in California is a feature, not a bug?

I did not buy him a Land Rover. Look, accountability is good. I want the fraud rooted out so the money actually goes to housing. But I get nervous when I hear task force launched by this particular administration because it just, it feels like they might use this one egregious example to slash funding for everyone else.

You can’t just shut down the safety net because one guy allegedly bought a villa.

If the safety net is made of holes this big, it needs to be shut down and rebuilt. You’re mad at the thief, sure. But you should be mad at the state government that let him get away with it for this long. $23 million doesn’t just disappear without someone looking the other way.

But if you think this is bad, wait until you see who is finally bringing the hammer down on the governor himself. You think this stops in South LA? You are dreaming.

Okay, I know where you’re going with this, and this is exactly why I’m concerned. We… We have to talk about the political fallout here because the friction between the current Trump administration and Governor Gavin Newsom is reaching a boiling point. Twenty three million in taxpayer dollars for not only his mansion and car,

but a second home in Greece, luxury vacations, designer clothes and private schools. President Trump is reportedly alleging a massive lack of transparency in the state’s multi-billion dollar budget. And the DOJ is now probing specific programs like Homekey.

Finally, it is about time. You have the president finally holding Newsom’s feet to the fire. Trump’s DOJ is reportedly auditing where these billions went. And honestly, it is draining the swamp California style. You should be happy. Unless, of course, you’re worried about what else they’re going to find.

I am all for transparency, but come on, this feels incredibly targeted. You have a Republican president using the DOJ to investigate a Democratic governor who is a massive political rival. It feels like weaponization of the justice system. Yes, probe the fraud, but going after Home Key, a program that has successfully converted hotels into housing,

it feels like an attempt to dismantle California’s policy wins just to score political points.

Policy wins? Are you joking? Look around. The only win was for the guy in the Greek villa. Trump is reportedly asking simple questions. Where did the money go? Why is there no oversight? If Newsom had nothing to hide, this wouldn’t be a problem.

But you are so terrified of Trump getting a win that you’d rather defend a broken, corrupt system than admit the president is right to audit this mess.

He was living the high life while the people suffering homeless on the streets with no shelter, no food. They’re living out in the streets.

I am not defending the corruption. I am saying that we can walk into gum at the same time. We can prosecute the thieves without dismantling the social safety net or or letting the president turn the DOJ into his personal opposition research firm. The timing is just, it’s too perfect.

The timing is perfect because the theft is happening now. It’s not opposition research if the crimes are real. You just can’t handle that the compassionate policies you voted for are allegedly funding private schools and luxury vacations.

And you can’t handle that complex social problems require funding, not just policing. But look, we are clearly not going to solve the California budget crisis today. We might if we stop sending checks to Greece. Fair point on that specific check. But we have to leave it there for now.
