The base posted that casualties have been reported and the situation is ongoing. Lt. Col. Angel Tomko said an active shooter was confirmed and assessments are underway.

The installation issued a lockdown order just after 11 a.m. in the 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team area. Personnel were instructed to stay inside, lock doors and windows, and maintain communication with leadership.
