Swedish Shooting Victim Calls Fiancée

In what has been described as Sweden’s deadliest mass shooting a victim managed to call his fiancée to express his love just moments before his life was tragically cut short.

Salim Karim Iskef 28 was one of the 10 victims when a gunman opened fire at an adult education center in Örebro. Despite his gunshot wounds Iskef video-called his fiancée Kareen Alia to tell her he loved her.

The attack occurred on Tuesday February 4 2025 at Campus Risbergska where Iskef was studying to become a nurse. This incident has left the community in shock and mourning.

Iskef had recently bought a home with Alia and they had plans to marry this summer. His last words to her were to take care of his mother and herself showcasing his selflessness even in his final moments.

The shooting has prompted an immediate response from the Swedish government with proposals to tighten gun laws especially concerning access to semi-automatic weapons like the AR-15.

The shooter reportedly had licenses for four weapons with three found next to his body. The identity of the shooter has not been officially disclosed but was connected to the school.

This tragedy has reignited debates on public safety and gun control in Sweden a country known for its low crime rates and strict gun laws. Public vigils and memorials have been held for the victims.
